Shell says domestic gas growth and monetization need dedicated infrastructure.

Shell urges infrastructure development to boost domestic gas growth and monetization. SNG MD Ralph Gbobo, at NIES, emphasized efficient gas delivery through robust infrastructure, citing the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System.

He stressed regulatory implementation and a stable network to attract investors.Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG), established in 1988, has led gas infrastructure development in Nigeria, supplying over 140 customers across multiple states.

Last year, it partnered with Oyo State to expand gas distribution. SNG MD Ralph Gbobo emphasized that expanding Nigeria’s domestic gas market requires collective efforts from regulators and industry players.

He stressed the need for clear policies and incentives to attract investors and ensure a stable market.He noted that Shell Companies in Nigeria have invested across the entire gas value chain—Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream—recognizing its potential to drive industrial and economic growth in the country.
