NCDMB Promises Increased Local Industry Involvement in Oil and Gas Projects.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has assured local oil servicing firms that the Board’s ongoing capacity-building initiatives aim to equip them for executing large-scale projects in the industry.

The visit to the company’s facilities in Choba, Port Harcourt, and Emohua, located in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, was a follow-up to the NCDMB Executive Secretary’s earlier visit to the company and several pipe coating facilities in May 2024. During that visit, he committed to supporting local service companies, providing them with opportunities in the oil and gas sector, and contributing to job creation in the economy.

Engineer Ogbe stated at the visit, the Board’s resolve to make sure that the resourcefulness of local oil and gas service companies are known and properly utilized by operating systems in the industry.

He noted that Brightwaters had consistently delivered successful projects in the exploration and production sector of the industry over the years, serving major clients such as SPDC and Chevron Nigeria Limited, among other key oil and gas operators. He expressed confidence in the company’s capability to handle critical aspects of upcoming industry projects.

He urged oil and gas operators to continuously support qualified service providers while ensuring that top-quality services are delivered on time and to the highest standards.Brightwaters’ Community and Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. Solomon Aluge, confirmed that the company had been working with the SPDC team and was well-equipped for both heavy and light fabrication projects. He stated that Brightwaters had executed numerous onshore and offshore pipeline engineering and installation projects for various clients.

The chief executive officer of Bright water, Mr Scott Gregory was pleased by the appearance of the executive secretary, Engineer Ogbe and the representatives of SPDC at the gathering, assuring all that the company has enormous capabilities for services in the oil and gas industry.

Shell’s General Manager for Local Content, Mr. Lanre Olawuyi, shared the company’s positive impression of Brightwaters Energy’s facilities and capabilities. He confirmed that Shell’s technical teams would review their assessments and determine how to involve the company in upcoming projects. He also expressed satisfaction with the facility upgrades made since the last visit in May 2024 and hoped that these improvements would attract increased patronage from the oil industry, helping the company regain its former prominence.

Accompanying the Executive Secretary on the visit were the Director of the Project Certification and Authorization Division (PCAD), Engr. Abayomi Bamidele; Deputy Manager of Corporate Communications and Zonal Coordination, Dr. Obinna Ezeobi; and a technical staff member from the Executive Secretary’s office, Mr. Ilu Ozekhome.
