Aliko Dangote praised President Bola Tinubu for appointing a capable leadership team at NNPCL, specifically highlighting Bashir Bayo Ojulari and Ahmadu Musa Kida. He commended the organization’s recent reforms focused on transparency and efficiency, noting that the new leadership has been supportive of the Dangote Group’s needs. Dangote emphasized that the team’s technical and managerial expertise is key to revitalizing NNPCL.

According to Dangote, the new leadership team—headed by Bashir Bayo Ojulari and Ahmadu Musa Kida—demonstrates President Tinubu’s strategic commitment to driving reform and innovation within the energy sector. He expressed confidence that the team is well-positioned to tackle entrenched challenges, align with the President’s vision of building a $1 trillion economy, and steer NNPC Limited toward operational excellence and long-term sustainability.

Addressing questions from select media over the weekend regarding his earlier remarks about fighting for the survival of his $20 billion refinery and confronting entrenched interests in the oil sector, Dangote clarified that his comments were not directed at the current leadership of NNPC Limited. He emphasized that the new management has thus far been supportive in addressing the company’s operational needs.

Aliko Dangote clarified that the “cabals” he referred to are certain oil marketers and traders trying to undermine President Tinubu’s economic reforms. He praised NNPC Limited’s recent structural reforms as signs of a renewed commitment to transparency, efficiency, and professionalism. Dangote expressed confidence in the new leadership’s ability to advance Nigeria’s energy sector and reaffirmed his company’s dedication to supporting a prosperous and energy-secure nation.
