NLNG, Shell, and Others to Showcase Nigeria’s Gas Potential in China

The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), Shell, other international oil majors, and national oil companies will present key gas projects and opportunities in Nigeria at the World Gas Conference (WGC) 2025 in Beijing, China.Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, will lead the Nigerian delegation, including the Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) and top industry leaders.

Ekpo will also speak at the event, which hosts global gas experts and policymakers.Key officials accompanying him include Engr. Farouk Ahmed (NMDPRA CEO), Mr. Bayo Ojulari (NNPC Ltd CEO), Engr. Felix Ogbe (NCDMB Executive Secretary), Ed Ubong (Coordinating Director, Decade of Gas), and Mr. Akachukwu Nwokedi (NGA President), among other prominent figures in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

Accompanying Minister Ekperikpe Ekpo to the World Gas Conference 2025 are top industry leaders, including Engr. Farouk Ahmed (NMDPRA CEO), Mr. Bayo Ojulari (NNPC Ltd CEO), Engr. Felix Ogbe (NCDMB Executive Secretary), Ed Ubong (Decade of Gas Coordinating Director), and NGA President Mr. Akachukwu Nwokedi, among others.Their presence highlights the Nigerian Gas Association’s (NGA) commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s role in the global energy transition and positioning gas as a cornerstone of the country’s economic future.

Leading companies such as NLNG, Shell Nigeria, First E&P, Axxela, ND Western, Aradel PLC, Aiteo, Tetracore, Xenergi, PCCS, ENTEC Power, Neconde Energy, Shoreline, and Oando, with support from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and NNPC Ltd, are backing the NGA-led participation.Industry leaders will gather at the Nigerian Pavilion at WGC 2025, where the NGA and Decade of Gas Secretariat will highlight Nigeria’s gas resources, investment prospects, and policy progress.Their support underscores Nigeria’s leadership in the energy sector and commitment to shaping the global energy landscape.

Commenting on the strong representation, NGA President Akachukwu Nwokedi said, “This is a strategic alignment of government and industry to elevate Nigeria’s energy narrative. WGC 2025 is not just an event — it marks Africa’s energy renaissance, with Nigeria leading the charge for transformation and investment.”The World Gas Conference 2025, set for May 19–23 in Beijing, will gather over 30,000 participants under the theme “Energising a Sustainable Future,” aligning with NGA’s push for gas-driven economic growth.Leading the Nigerian delegation, Minister Ekperikpe Ekpo said the event offers a key platform to showcase Nigeria’s gas potential, foster global partnerships, and attract investments for sustainable development and energy security.

Nigeria is open for major gas investments, backed by strong policies and incentives. NGA President Akachukwu Nwokedi emphasized that WGC 2025 offers a key platform to showcase Nigeria’s leadership in the global energy transition.The Nigerian Pavilion will highlight the country’s gas potential, while the “Nigerian Day” will celebrate energy achievements, promote partnerships, and attract investors, reinforcing Nigeria’s position as a prime destination for gas opportunities.

The Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) is the leading voice for Nigeria’s gas industry, representing both private and public sectors. It promotes natural gas as a driver of economic growth and works to enable the full development of the country’s gas resources.
