As Nigeria implements the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) to reform key agencies and enhance the oil and gas sector, efficiency, accountability, and competitiveness are expected to improve.

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, emphasized that the recent NNPCL restructuring is crucial for aligning with global energy demands. He expressed confidence in the newly appointed leadership, including Board Chairman Ahmadu Musa Kida and GCEO Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, to drive national energy goals forward.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strategic appointments in line with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. He expressed confidence in the new NNPCL leadership, including Board Chairman Ahmadu Musa Kida and GCEO Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, to drive progress in meeting national energy goals. Lokpobiri reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting NNPCL and urged industry stakeholders to collaborate with the new management.

The Minister urged stakeholders to support the new leadership in boosting production capacity, optimizing value, and ensuring sustainability in the oil and gas sector. He thanked Mr. Mele Kyari for his service and emphasized Nigeria’s commitment, under President Tinubu’s administration, to creating a favorable environment for growth, investment, and transformation in the industry.
