The EIB pledged support for a solar and green hydrogen project in Barbados with guarantees and investment grants. The Renewstable Barbados (RSB) project, developed by Hydrogene de France SA and backed by Rubis SCA, will establish Barbados’ first green hydrogen storage site.

Located in Saint Philip Parish, it will integrate solar power with hydrogen storage, replacing 13 MW of fossil-fuel generation and increasing renewable energy on the grid by nearly 50%.

The project has support from the IFC, IDB Invest, and the Green Climate Fund.
