ORLEN Group discovered the Siedlemin gas field near Jarocin, Poland, at a depth of 3 kilometers. The field holds over 8.3 billion cubic feet of gas, and production will be supported by existing infrastructure in the region. ORLEN operates three gas fields in Jarocin and plans further exploration.

The Siedlemin field is in a promising region with previous gas discoveries like Radlin and Klęka.Wiesław Prugar, ORLEN’s Upstream board member, highlighted that the find strengthens Poznań’s role in Poland’s energy sector, where ORLEN produces the most domestic gas.Prugar emphasized that exploring new fields is key to ORLEN’s strategy, supporting the energy transition while benefiting local communities. In 2023, ORLEN produced 7.1 billion cubic meters of gas, 4% of Poland’s demand, with 1.7 billion cubic meters from Poznań.

The company aims to increase production to 12 billion cubic meters by 2030, including 4 billion from Poland.ORLEN and Northland Power have begun construction on Poland’s first offshore wind farm, the 1.2 GW Baltic Power project in the Baltic Sea.Set to operate in 2026, it will power over 1.5 million households. ORLEN’s strategy includes deploying over 4 GW in the Baltic Sea, with plans for three more wind farms.

ORLEN CEO Ireneusz Fąfara highlighted the progress of Poland’s first offshore wind farm, with the Baltic Power project’s first foundations installed. In 2025, the project will see Poland’s largest offshore installation campaign. By 2026, clean, stable energy from the Baltic Sea will support Poland’s economy and foster business growth.

Once complete, Baltic Power will be Poland’s first operational offshore wind farm, generating 4,000 GWh of zero-emission electricity annually and reducing CO2 emissions by 2.8 million metric tons per year.
