ABL to Offer MWS Services for Saipem’s Libyan Offshore Gas Project

ABL will provide MWS services to Saipem for Libya’s Bouri Gas Utilisation Project, supporting transport and installation operations.

The project upgrades offshore platforms to cut CO2 emissions and includes a 5,000-ton gas recovery module on DP4 and 28 km of pipelines linking DP3, DP4, and Sabratha.ABL’s MWS project manager, Sergio Leone, expressed satisfaction in supporting Saipem, highlighting their strong collaboration history.

The BGUP project aims to enhance Libya’s gas production and supply across North Africa.ABL will review and approve project documents, drawings, and calculations for warranted marine operations.

Its scope includes suitability surveys, marine assurance tasks for the fleet, and potential DP trials. ABL will also oversee and approve on-site marine operations.ABL will conduct suitability surveys, marine assurance tasks, and DP trials if needed.

On-site reviews will ensure safe marine operations.Saipem 7000 will handle heavy lifting. While managed from London, ABL’s marine surveyors across Europe and North Africa will provide local support, leveraging their experience in Egypt.
