West Ham United are making a serious push to bolster their attacking options in the January transfer window, with reports suggesting they are actively pursuing a move for Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

According to renowned transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Hammers have initiated talks with Forest regarding a potential transfer for the Nigerian international.

West Ham are exploring all avenues, with both loan and permanent transfer options currently under consideration.

Graham Potter’ side has been plagued by injuries to key attacking players this season, leaving them desperately short of firepower upfront.

The acquisition of Awoniyi, a proven goalscorer in the Premier League, would provide a much-needed boost to their attacking options.

Awoniyi, who joined Forest from Union Berlin in 2022, has shown glimpses of his talent in the English top flight, although his playing time has been somewhat limited this season.

West Ham face stiff competition for Awoniyi’s signature, but they are reportedly determined to secure the services of the Nigerian international before the January transfer window closes.

This developing story will be closely monitored as the January transfer window enters its final stages.
