The Federal Ministry of Finance has denied allegations of awarding N13 billion in contracts without due process, asserting that all contracts, including those under the Pi-CNG initiative, followed the Public Procurement Act. In a statement, Director Mohammed Manga emphasized the ministry’s commitment to transparency and accountability under the leadership of Minister Wale Edun and Permanent Secretary Lydia Shehu Jafiya.

The Finance Ministry dismissed corruption allegations as false and harmful, reaffirming that all contracts followed due process. Director Mohammed Manga emphasized the ministry’s commitment to transparency and warned of legal action against misinformation. He defended the ministry’s economic policies as aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that all financial activities are conducted within legal and accountable frameworks.

Last month, the Federal Government launched a N2.5 billion Credit Scheme to support vehicle conversion to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and local kit production. The initiative, called Credit Access for Light and Mobility (CALM), is a collaboration between the Ministry of Finance, Credicorp, and PCNGi, aimed at reducing energy and transport costs.
