NNPC has reduced petrol prices in Lagos and Abuja by N15, with Lagos stations now selling at N910 per litre (down from N925) and Abuja at N935 (down from N950). The nationwide price adjustment comes as Dangote Refinery partners also offer lower pump prices, increasing competition.

Dangote Refinery has reduced ex-depot petrol prices nationwide, with partners like AP, MRS, and Heyden adjusting pump prices to as low as N890 per litre in Lagos.

Prices vary by region, with the highest now at N920 per litre in the South-East, South-South, and North-East. Meanwhile, NNPC has opened new filling stations in Abuja and Bauchi, some offering CNG, and is distributing free petrol to customers.

To mark the opening of new stations in Abuja and Bauchi, NNPC gave away free petrol, including 5 litres each to over 200 bike riders in Abuja. The Abuja station is located on Airport Road, while the Bauchi station opened on April 17 along Kano–Ningi Road. NNPC emphasized customer comfort and service quality.

Meanwhile, S&P Global noted that Dangote’s recent fuel price cuts were modest compared to the global decline in crude oil prices.S&P Global stated that Dangote’s price cuts were insufficient, making petrol importation still attractive. The refinery’s repeated reductions have sparked a price war with industry leaders.
