
The Nigerian Army uncovered 11 illegal oil bunkering sites and made key seizures during a six-day operation across Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, and Rivers States.
According to Lt.-Col. Danjuma Danjuma, spokesman for the Army’s 6 Division, six of the sites were found in Rivers State’s Imo River area.During the operations, seven suspects were arrested, and troops seized over 67,000 litres of illegal petroleum products, including crude oil and adulterated diesel.
They also deactivated illegal refining equipment and intercepted vehicles and boats transporting stolen fuel. In Ahoada West, two cars carrying 1,300 litres of illegal diesel were seized, and at Krakrama Wellhead 12, three boats and 1,500 litres of stolen crude were recovered.
Troops seized over 67,000 litres of illegal fuel, dismantled refineries in Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, and Akwa Ibom, and arrested 7 suspects.
