
Oando Plc has taken sustained action to prevent further pollution following a sabotage attack on its gas pipeline in Bayelsa State.
The April 3 attack damaged the Ogboinbiri-Obiobi pipeline at three points, disrupting gas exports to the NLNG terminal in Bonny. The pipeline has been shut down for safety and investigation.
Oando Plc confirmed three pipeline attacks within a week and activated emergency response plans to contain environmental damage.
Leak repair teams were deployed, and the company is working with authorities on a Joint Investigation Visit (JIV) to assess the cause, volume, and impact of the leaks.Oando stated that the Joint Investigation Visit (JIV) will determine the cause and extent of the sabotage, allowing for lasting solutions.
After the JIV, full repairs will begin to resume operations, prioritizing safety, environmental protection, and community well-being. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
