London, England – Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana will miss the remainder of the current season after undergoing successful hamstring surgery.
The club confirmed the news today, stating that the operation was necessary after the 24-year-old suffered a muscle injury.
Fofana had only recently returned to the Chelsea squad following a lengthy absence due to a previous hamstring issue.
He featured in the matches against Leicester City and Arsenal in March but was notably absent from the squad that defeated Tottenham Hotspur.
