London, England – Alex Iwobi further cemented his status as a Premier League standout with a stellar performance for Fulham against Liverpool yesterday.

Alex Iwobi First Nigerian to Reach 30 Goals & 34 Assists in Premier League

The Nigerian midfielder scored one goal and provided an assist in a thrilling 3-2 victory for the Cottagers.

Liverpool took an early lead, but Fulham fought back, with Iwobi playing a crucial role in their comeback.

He scored Fulham’s second goal to put them ahead 2-1 and then set up their third goal with a well-weighted pass.

This outstanding display not only helped Fulham secure a memorable win against a top opponent but also contributed to Iwobi reaching the landmark of 30 goals and 34 assists in the Premier League, making him the first Nigerian to achieve this feat.

His goal against Liverpool was his eighth Premier League goal of the season, and the assist was his fifth of the campaign, reaching the 34-assists.

This feat highlights Iwobi’s longevity, consistency, and growing influence in the English top flight since his debut in the league.

He has now surpassed the Premier League assist record of fellow Nigerian legend Nwankwo Kanu, who previously held the highest number of assists by a Nigerian in the competition.

Iwobi’s journey in the Premier League began with Arsenal, where he made his breakthrough before moving to Everton and then Fulham.

Throughout his time in England, he has showcased his versatility, playing in various attacking and midfield roles, contributing both with goals and creating opportunities for his teammates.

This achievement will undoubtedly be celebrated by Nigerian football fans and underscores Iwobi’s status as one of the country’s most successful exports to the Premier League.
