Subsea7 wins Shell’s Sparta deepwater project contract, U.S. offshore

Subsea 7 S.A. announced a major contract win from Shell for the Sparta deepwater project in the U.S.The Sparta deepwater development project, awarded to Subsea 7 S.A. by Shell Offshore Inc., involves the transportation and installation of a floating production system (FPS) at the Garden Banks block 959, located off the southeastern coast of Louisiana.

This area lies at water depths of up to 1,635 meters.Subsea 7 will immediately begin project management and engineering activities at its office in Houston, Texas.

Offshore operations for the project are expected to commence in 2027, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between Subsea 7 and Shell.Craig Broussard, Senior Vice President for Subsea 7 Gulf of Mexico, expressed pride in continuing the partnership with Shell in the U.S., highlighting their past successes, including the recent Vito development.

Broussard emphasized the company’s eagerness to contribute to the successful delivery of the Sparta project, playing a key role in its execution and completion.
