KEDCO Enhances Power Supply Following Repairs on Burnt Substation in Jigawa

Dutse residents commend KEDCO for repairing the burnt substation that left them without power and water for months.

Aliyu Mohammed says electricity restoration has revived local businesses.KEDCO Spokesperson, Sani Bala Sani, confirms the repair of the 7.5 MVA transformer, cable replacement, and substation renovation.

According to KEDCO Spokesperson, feeders affected by the substation outage included 11kV Garu, 11kV Limawa, and 11kV Government House.He noted that KEDCO’s core investor, Future Energies Africa (FEA), and management have been investing in modernizing the distribution network to address energy challenges and enhance power reliability for regional development.

He credited the progress to the support of Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, and Commissioner of Power and Energy, Engr.

Suraj Musa, whose leadership is driving improved electricity supply and boosting socio-economic activities.“With ongoing investments, KEDCO is not only repairing faults but also building a stronger, sustainable power network across its franchise area,” he concluded.
