NNPCL dismissed reports of an explosion at Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC), calling them false.On January 25, 2025, operations at WRPC Area 1 were deliberately reduced for maintenance on key equipment affecting steady operations.

NNPCL Affirms Smooth Operations Amid Warri Refinery MaintenanceThe Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reassured the public that routine maintenance at the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC) is progressing as planned, with Area 1 expected to resume operations within the next few days.

Despite ongoing maintenance work, the company has successfully sustained the loading of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) at an average rate of eight trucks per day over the past 11 days. Sufficient supply remains available to support continuous truck load-out operations, ensuring that distribution is not disrupted.NNPCL reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining a steady supply of petroleum products.

The company appreciates the patience and cooperation of all stakeholders as it carries out these essential maintenance activities, which are crucial for the long-term efficiency and reliability of refinery operations.
