Aba Power loses 50MW due to TCN repairs, set to restore electricity in some areas.

Aba Power loses 50MW daily from 9 AM to 5 PM due to TCN’s one-week maintenance in Abia State.The DisCo assures affected areas of power restoration today.

Aba Power’s Brand and Communication Manager, Edise Ekong, stated that if TCN had approved their request to supply power from the 188MW Geometric Power Plant, areas like Opobo Road, Obingwa, and Ikot Ekpene Road wouldn’t face severe outages.Other affected areas include Aba City Centre, Ogbor Hill, Isiala Ngwa, Waterside, Umuode, and Ugwunagbo.Ekong urged TCN to respond quickly, promising power restoration within minutes.

He apologized to customers for the outage and assured proactive efforts from Aba Power and Geometric Power.Aba Power’s Edise Ekong says outages in areas like Opobo Road, Obingwa, and Ikot Ekpene Road could have been avoided if TCN approved power supply from the 188MW Geometric Power Plant.Other affected areas include Aba City Centre, Ogbor Hill, Isiala Ngwa, Waterside, Umuode, and Ugwunagbo.Ekong urges TCN to respond, assuring power restoration within minutes.

He apologizes for the outage and blames delayed communication.Despite Geometric Power’s 100MW capacity for Aba Ringfence, it relies on NDPHC due to gas supply issues from NNPCL and its partner.

Aba Power MD Ugo Opiegbe says Geometric Power is securing more gas supplies to boost autonomy.He assures continued collaboration with electricity firms to serve Aba and Nigeria better.
